The Warning
This piece started from a place of serenity and then slowly turned sinister. It is a piece that expliers how even the most beautiful things can be insidiousness at the same time.
In an increasingly polarized world, it seems like people try to label everything. Good vs. Bad. Wrong vs. Right. True vs. False. These binary narratives incite distrust amongst people, and give people seeking unchecked power justifications to erode freedom by monitoring, controlling, and manipulating how we think and act.
I painted this to serve as a reminder that everything can feel like a threat if you are living in fear. But we should not let others dictate what we think and feel through stoking fear. We are FREE to engage in critical thought and to find peace and serenity even when others may want to distract us, confuse us, or blind us from what is truly good in this world.
Resist being spoon-fed the “truth”.
