What is up, what is down? We humans have many stubborn qualities. We often have the desire to unnecessarily control the world around us. We want to label things and place them in neat little boxes. When conceiving of this piece, I wanted something that was bold, dramatic, mesmerizing and disorienting. This piece is not meant to represent anything in particular, but rather is meant to challenge the observer to question what they are looking at. What perspective is the right one to take? Are we small looking at something big or vice versa? Are we above or below, looking up or down? Are these flowers on earth or nebulae in space? Does it matter?
