S.T.A.Y.
Seeking. Turning. Always. Yearning. (S.T.A.Y.)
You could say that acronym epitomizes my philosophy on life and living. This art piece is a representation of adventure and exploration as well as the challenge that comes with pushing boundaries into unknown and uncomfortable places. There is so much uncertainty when we relent and give ourselves over to forces or ideas with which we are unfamiliar.
But there is beauty and creation in taking those leaps into foreign territory. Others may worry about us when we explore different paths and may feel alone or abandoned by us when we embark on our own journey, but that should not make us feel ashamed or guilty for making such choices.
This artwork centers on an astronaut seemingly in the grip of an energetic point in space, where there is ten sion between creative and destructive forces. The astronaut appears distant but perhaps embracing of, or surrendering to, the trajectory into the void. The companion astronaut appears to ambitiously be rushing to aid, or perhaps join, his friend . . . .
